Hola! This year our theme for Art is “EXPLORING THE AMERICAS!”

Grab your passports and pack your bags! This year we are exploring amazing Mexico! Students will learn common Spanish words and phrases, hop into the rich cultural heritage and take an aesthetic dive unique folk art produced in Mexico. Students are excited to learn about DIOS DE LOS MUERTOS and are creating awesome paper sugar skulls to commemorate this fun holiday.

Later in the year students will explore the symbolism of Native American and Inuit Art of North America.
There are so many unique tribes to learn about. Students will paint totem pole pieces and learn about katchina dolls. The Inuit way of life is a cold but fascinating one!

In the spring students will hop on a flight to Hawaii to roam the islands. We will celebrate with flower leis and my favorite – painted TIKI heads!
